The Toyhouse Team of Play & Family Support Workers
The current staff team are all qualified to at least Level 3 for the Children’s Workforce and are skilled and experienced to work with parents and children together, supporting bonding and the development of resilience through the non threatening medium of play. Staff have additional knowledge, expertise and skills in work with: babies; physical play; those with additional needs; matters surrounding healthy lifestyles such as diet and exercise; running Toy Library sessions; delivering mobile services and individual support work with families in their home.
The staff team of 11 come from 7 different ethnicities across 4 continents and between them are speakers of 7 community languages. Over half live locally. Many staff begin their involvement with Toyhouse as parent users, followed by volunteering and ongoing training, then can secure employment when a vacancy arises. Toyhouse is committed to capacity building and empowerment of the local community.
